The 1st edition of the Winter School on Grant Writing – WINGS 2015 came to an end after 5 days of intensive learning, discussions and teambuilding activities. The event took place between 27 November – 1 December in Arcalia, Bistrita-Nasaud with the participation of almost 40 high school students.
The participants had the chance to learn the basics of grant writing:
- How and where to search for funding opportunities,
- How to read and better understand a call for proposals, and
- What to consider when planning to write and apply for a grant.
They learned how to define their problem, construct the scope of the research, and how to develop SMART objectives. The trainers talked also about project management and financial aspects and worked with the participants on the budget for their project proposals. In addition, the students witnessed how grant proposals are evaluated and had the task to write a mock grant proposal in a team.
Alongside with all the academic activities, C-SPH team organized for participants fun teambuilding games and socializing activities. Find more picture on the Winter School on Grant Writing – WINGS official Facebook page.
The participants also received a task for home – to find an institution or an NGO, and apply for a grant at one of the funding opportunities presented during the Winter School.
We wish them good luck and looking towards WINGS 2016!
