Associate researcher

  • I am a public health researcher with a strong interest in the social determinants of health, and more specifically in addressing health inequalities, fostering healthy communities, advancing maternal and child health, and supporting tobacco control. For the last 8 years, I have been actively involved in the development of Cluj School of Public Health, where I have coordinated the Social and Behavioral Health unit up to June 2015. I have working experience in public health research, program design and evaluation, research capacity building, as well as formal and non-formal education in health. I have an interdisciplinary academic background with a BA in Communication Sciences, followed by an MA in Research Design and Data Analysis in Social Sciences, an MA in Health Policy and Management (all within Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca), and I am currently undertaking a Ph.D. in Health and Social Studies (within the University of Warwick, UK).

  • Research interests

    Social determinants of health and health inequalities, maternal and child health, smoking and exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke in relation to maternal, family and child health, mixed methods research in public health, program design and evaluation.
