I have been working as a research assistant at the Cluj School of Public Health, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, since 2011. The last five years working at the Cluj School of Public helped me narrow down my research interest. My research activity focused on preventing eating disorders through online support in adolescent community samples, on assessing nutrition literacy in adolescents aged 10 to 19 years old and on using motivational interviewing to help women stay quit from smoking. I improved my research skills and knowledge in public health research, studying for one semester at the University of Iowa and being a trainee for two years in a research program offered by the University of California, Berkeley. My current work focuses on improving psychosocial support services addressing patients diagnosed with cancer by developing a mental health referral model for oncology settings and by assessing factors helping patients with cancer return to work.
