Risk assessment program and social marketing in the largest Romanian battery plant, relating to occupational lead and SO2 exposure.

SCANLEAD

The project approaches the health and workplace safety/security issues in relation to occupational exposure to Pb and SO2 at ROMBAT Bistrita – a major operator of car batteries. Main objective: Integration of the concept of occupational safety and health protection in the technological costs and increasing competitiveness of the end product at the EU standard. Purpose: Implementation of the integrated system for occupational safety and occupational health protection at a Romanian batteries operator with an important role in the domestic market. Implementation of workplaces control in the industrial units producing car batteries will lead to lower risk at the workplaces with exposure to SO2 and Pb and improved health of workers. Throughout the project, results are disseminated through specific support activities, training and seminars organized by EHC-CO with leading foreign guests.
