Petru Sandu, MD PhD(c)

Associate researcher

  • Physical activity is the one health enhancing behavior that can bring benefits to all aspects all health – physical, mental and social, and to persons in all age groups and from all socio-economic strata. However, in most countries (and especially in the LMICs) there is a gap in the development of cross-sectoral, evidence-informed national and local policies that could make communities more walking, running and PA friendly.

As an M.D., BPhEd and PhD(c) in public health, my professional and personal aims are to raise awareness at local and national level on the importance of PA policy development and to contribute to healthier communities through facilitating the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence-informed, cross-sectoral PA policies and programs.
