Mădălina Coman, PhD

Assistant Professor

Biography

Mădălina Coman is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Public Health at Babeș-Bolyai University. With a PhD in Administrative Sciences and Public Policy, focused on health and food literacy in policy and practice, a master’s degree in Health Psychology, a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and a bachelor’s degree in Public Health, she combines her training in psychology and public health by focusing her teaching activities and work on topics related to behavioral sciences, community mental health, health promotion, and social determinants of health.

In addition to her academic career, Dr. Coman is also active in research, with experience in areas such as population-level health literacy, health promotion through programs and public health policies, and capacity building in the field of public health, with a particular emphasis on violence and injury prevention. Dr. Coman was involved in over 20 projects working in teams at national and international level to improve public health in Romania.

Dr Coman’s main research interest focuses on helping people achieve literacy skills and, through them, better health. She aims to use her research knowledge to improve the status of health literacy in Romania and find the right words for better health.
