The Joint Action on Health Workforce Planning and Forecasting

Duration: 2013 – 2016

Goal: To move forward on the health workforce planning process and support countries in tackling key challenges. Created a platform for collaboration and exchange between Member States to prepare the future of health workforce planning.

Objectives:

  • Address lack of consistent terminology in health workforce planning
  • Address lack of data in health workforce forecasting
  • Improve model-, demand-based- and future-based planning
  • Enhance inter-country collaboration
  • Create platform for exchange between Member States
